One of the most transformative features in Hifz Focus is the ability for students to submit audio recordings of their recitations and for teachers to provide precise, word-level asynchronous feedback.

This workflow eliminates geographic and scheduling bottlenecks, allowing learners to submit recitations when they are most prepared and teachers to deliver high-fidelity Tajweed feedback without rushing through live class time.

1. Why Asynchronous Feedback Works

Traditional Live Class ChallengeHifz Focus Asynchronous Solution
Stage fright & pressure: Students often stumble during live calls due to anxiety.Comfortable self-recording: Students practice and record in a calm environment when ready.
Fleeting verbal corrections: Students forget spoken corrections 10 minutes after class.Permanent voice notes: Teachers attach 5-second audio corrections directly to marked words.
Scheduling conflicts: Time-zone differences and busy schedules cause missed classes.Flexible pacing: Students submit on their schedule; teachers evaluate during dedicated review windows.
Rushed Tajweed analysis: Subtle pronunciation slips get lost in real-time.Precision replay: Teachers can pause, rewind, and isolate individual syllables.

2. Student Guide: Recording and Submitting Lessons

Step 1: Open the Built-in Recorder

  1. Log into your Student Dashboard.
  2. Locate your To-Do List (Sabak, Practice Queue, or Dour).
  3. Click the Microphone Icon on the right side of the lesson you want to record.
  4. The recording modal opens, displaying the exact Mushaf verses for your lesson.

Step 2: Record Your Recitation

  1. Find a quiet room and click "Start Recording".
  2. Recite at a steady, measured pace (Tarteel), reading directly from the on-screen Mushaf.
  3. You can click "Pause" and "Resume" if you need to catch your breath or clear your throat.
  4. When finished, click "Stop".

Step 3: Preview and Submit

  1. Use the embedded audio player to listen to your recording.
  2. If you spot a hesitation or mistake you can do better on, click "Start Recording" again to record a fresh attempt.
  3. Once satisfied, click "Submit for Review".
  4. The microphone icon turns into a "Pending Review" badge. Your teacher is notified immediately.

3. Teacher Guide: Reviewing and Giving Precision Feedback

Step 1: Identify Pending Submissions

On your Teacher Dashboard, any student with an active submission displays a noticeable badge: "Recitation Ready for Review".

Step 2: Launch the Review Session

  1. Click "Start Session" on the student's card.
  2. In the session controls, click the "Play Recitation" button.
  3. The interactive Mushaf immediately loads the student's assigned verses and reveals an audio player at the bottom.

Step 3: Listen and Mark Errors in Real Time

  1. Click Play on the audio player.
  2. Follow along on the Mushaf. As you hear mistakes:
    • Click words directly on the Mushaf to flag them as Jali (Red) or Khafi (Yellow).
    • Pause or jump back 5 seconds using the player controls to re-listen to tricky articulations.
  3. For deep Tajweed coaching:
    • Click the error in the bottom tray to open its details dialog.
    • Choose the specific category (Makhraj, Sifaat, Madd, Ghunna).
    • Click "Record Correction" to record your own voice reciting the corrected word.
    • Save the note—your voice recording attaches directly to that specific word on the student's screen!

Step 4: Complete the Session

  1. Click "Complete & Save Session".
  2. Select "Sabak Memorized" if the recitation met passing standards, or "Needs More Practice" if revisions are needed.
  3. The student receives an instant push/email alert and can click any highlighted word on their screen to hear your exact voice demo.

4. Pro-Tips for Best Results

  • Students: Recite with audible volume and keep your microphone 6–8 inches away to avoid popping sounds on aspirated letters like Taa (ت) and Kaf (ك).
  • Teachers: Keep your recorded audio corrections short and punchy (3–5 seconds), focusing exclusively on demonstrating the single word or transition being corrected.
  • Combined Method: Use asynchronous audio reviews for mid-week practice checks, saving live video classes for comprehensive tests and personal mentorship.
